Aberdeen partners Weave Living to buy six Tokyo residential properties

The properties being purchased were safeguarded off-market through Weave Living. Comprising a total of 275 non commercial units, all 6 real estates were finished between 2023 and 2026. They lie across various wards in main Tokyo, throughout a 10-minute walk of the nearby train station.

The properties are being gotten on behalf of a European investor that is a continued partner of Aberdeen in the region, the global asset executive mentioned in an Aug 17 release. The deal value was not divulged.

Aberdeen Investments is purchasing 6 properties in Tokyo in collaboration with Hong Kong-based rental accommodation provider Weave Living.

5 of the assets will be run as furnished versatile rental condos under Weave Place– a brand managed by Weave Living. The sixth asset will continue to be run as a standard built-to-rent housing property.

“As aspect of the accelerated growth of our integrated living sector-focused funds management business in Japan and across Asia Pacific, we are delighted to announce this business venture with Aberdeen Investments,” claimed Sachin Doshi, founder and CEO of Weave Living.

The purchase will certainly strengthen Aberdeen’s Japan living portfolio, which stood at 57 properties with an overall valuation of close to JPY150 billion ($1.2 billion) since June.

Meanwhile, Weave Living’s Japan portfolio has expanded to about JPY110 billion since it went into the marketplace in 2023.

The properties will cater to increasing need for flexible living solutions in Japan, claimed Harumi Kadono, Aberdeen’s head of Japan property. “Partnering with Weave Living offers us an experienced supervisor on the ground in Tokyo and permits us to satisfy that demand with an authentically distinguished rental product,” he included.
